Surrounded by such magnificent beauty and constantly changing weather, most of our residents focus their lives around living in the physical, manifest world. The digital life for us is a tool we use for specific reasons and purposes, not a place we choose to live in.

High-speed internet has come slowly and unevenly to our neighborhoods, and that has effectively shaped the nature of the people who choose to call this home or home-away-from-home. As of 2024, we’re not a people who rely on virtual worlds to find value and meaning in life.

But come the virtual world has, and this power is, for better or worse, slowly transforming who we are as a community.

With no public media–local-coverage newspapers, radio, television–we depend largely on word-of-mouth to find out what’s going on in our world. You’ll also find active users of two primary social media platforms here.
